Daytime Senior Center
There is no membership fee* to join our largest program, which is the Daytime Senior Center. However, since the Center is a non-profit organization, voluntary donations (which are collected anonymously) are suggested for most activities and are much appreciated. No senior is ever denied a service due to lack of contribution.
For more information about the programs we offer, please see the links below for our Membership Brochure and monthly calendar. Suggested voluntary donation fees include:
- $3 Daily Lunch
- $1.50 One-way transportation to the Center ($3 round trip)
- $5 Daily exercise class or activity
Open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, the daytime senior center is open to all Nassau County residents over age 60. We also welcome visitors from outside Nassau County or under age 60, but we do request a visitor donation.
This program is partially funded by Nassau County, with additional funding from the Town of Oyster Bay and New York State. However, this government funding represents only 25% of our overall budget; for the remaining 75%, the Center relies heavily on fundraising, member contributions, grants, bequests and donations from the public. Your contributions are greatly appreciated!
Evening Program
Our evening program, “After Hours”, offers customized activities for older adults who are looking to get out for an evening. The program is open to the public (not just Center members) and there are no age restrictions.
Enjoy an evening class or activity for a reasonable fee, as listed on our schedule. Each of our exercise classes (i.e. yoga, strength training, Pilates, etc.) run once a week, for a cost of $80 for an 8 week session. Participants can join at any time, and fees will be prorated.
An optional $59 After Hours Annual Membership is available to receive discounts on exercise classes. A $149 Membership also includes use of our gym. With these optional annual memberships the weekly fee per class is only $8. This is beneficial for participants who take multiple exercise classes throughout the year.
